I acted and sang throughout my school years and then left school at 16 to...join the Royal Navy as an engineering apprentice. My thinking was that it might be good to have a trade should performing not work out as a career. I did a year in the navy before coming to the conclusion that while there would be security in that choice I could also miss out on learning and experience of what I really wanted to do. Perform. So I left with the best wishes of my commanding officer.
Ever since then I have performed for many years as a singer on cruise ships, as an ADR voiceover artist on Black Sails and as the narrator for a documentary on the city of Petra, as an actor in fringe theatre and variously as a performer in pantomime, corporate gigs and radio plays.
When Covid turned the world upside down I took a job for NHS Scotland first as a cleaner and then was promoted to the linen manager for the Royal Alexandria Hospital in Paisley. It’s not performing but it has paid the bills and I’ve been able to help out in my own small way. Outside of my performing I cycle regularly and have a strong interest in fitness, weight training and computer games. An ambition of mine is to work as a voiceover artist as a main character on a AAA video game e.g. Call of Duty. I have a long-standing interest in TV and Film and I’m keen to learn as many aspects of it as possible while working as an extra.
