I am 54 years old and married 30 years with two daughters. I have lived in the Edinburgh area all my life but I love to travel both nationally and internationally.
My interests include football, golf, ten pin bowling and skiing. I am a member of the National Trust for Scotland and Historic Scotland and love visiting these sites with my family.
I was an electronic technician with Ferranti for six years before joining Lothian and Borders Police in 1989. I retired after 30 years service in 2019. I currently work part time as a chauffer and car deliverer.
In the Police Service I was an authorised Firearms officer for 25 years. I was an Operational Firearms Commander and for three years a Tactical Advisor. As I was operational on the Force Armed Response Vehicle I passed the Police Advanced Driving Course in 2013. In my current job as a chauffer I am authorised to drive airside at Edinburgh Airport. I am used to mixing with people from all walks of life and due to my Firearms experience I am used to working in high pressure situations however I am also used to long periods of down time followed suddenly by periods of intense activity.
