Biography
Born in Greenock Renfrewshire but moved to Fife at an early age and have spent most of my life in the kingdom.
After leaving school, trained as a motor mechanic and completed my apprenticeship before joining Fife Constabulary where I served for 30 years as Constable, Sergeant and Inspector.I had the benefit of performing many different roles including Road Policing Instructor at The Scottish Police College where I taught Advanced Driving, Police Driving Instructor Training and VIP Protection Driving over a three year period. I also enjoyed a number of years as a hostage and crisis intervention negotiator and was deployed to a variety of incidents where my communication skills were tested to the full and resulted in the resolution of numerous incidents.Additionally, I was involved in training exercises within this post which involved me role playing various characters to simulate hostage or crisis intervention scenarios. The latter part of my career was spent as an Inspector within Community Safety where I was responsible for working with partner agencies in response to crime prevention and community reassurance. This role also involved delivery of training and presentations to large audiences on subjects including problem solving and Intelligence.
On retirement from the police service, I embarked on a wedding car business and ran this successfully for three years before selling the business as a going concern. During this period, I served the requirements of over 200 clients and contributed positively to their happy day.
Since 2012, I have been working part time for events companies who deliver transport solutions for major sporting events such as The Open Golf Championship, Ladies and men’s Scottish Golf Championships and The Dunhill Links Championship where I have been responsible for driving a number of high profile and celebrity clients.
I have a keen interest in Film, TV and music and have a very diverse taste in all. I enjoy golf, walking, swimming, world and UK travel and spending time travelling with my Motorhome.
I am married and have two children and two grandchildren. Retirement or semi retirement is therefore a pretty busy occupation.
I am looking forward to a new challenge with Real People Casting and have just completed my first job with another to follow soon.
