Mechanical Engineer by profession. Merchant Navy Engineer Officer, Supervisor in Coal, Oil, Gas and Nuclear Power Stations, Petro-chem COMAH plants, PSSR Engineer, Material Handling Plants, Hospital Engineer.
Development Officer with a Maritime Charity. Licensed Assessor in Mechanical Engineering.
Royal Yacht Association Instructor in Power Boat level 1 & 2 and Safety Boat. RYA qualified to Desk Top Theory, Advanced Power Boat, Dinghy 1 & 2, ICC, liferaft rescue. Qualified to drive power boats at night in rough weather. I can skipper boats up to 42 feet length and I have several years experience in all types of power boat and also some sail experience.
I'm also a qualified Emergency First Responder trained by the Scottish Ambulance Service and with 4 years experience.
I was a qualified SQUBA Diver, Scottish Sub-aqua Club 2nd. Class Diver with over 500 dives.
I lived and worked in Lanzarote, Spain for 4 years and can speak basic Spanish. Mostly technical!
