Biography
My mother and father had both been involved in singing and/ or acting for very a long time. In 1972/1973, myself and my two sisters were invited to take part in a few musicals along with my father (including 'Fiddler on the Roof') as child actors in the chorus at the Kings Theatre, Glasgow, While i was at college in 1992 studying IT, my family, encouraged me to join an amateur club in 1991 for their production of 'Hello Dolly' as the club were very short of male actors/ singers. After auditioning and being accepted into an amateur club, I've been forever hooked into all things AmDram (singing, dancing, acting). Fast foward 35 or so years, I've been a member of EROS, Minerva Club, Theatre Guild, Eastwood Entertainers, Rockchoir Scotland, Our Lady's Musical Society, performing in a large number of musicals and concerts, either as a bass or a tenor singer. Musicals include Kiss me Kate, Hello Dolly, Chess, Guys and Dolls, 42nd Street, Copacabana, Fiddler on the Roof, Anything Goes, Oliver, White Christmas to name a few.
I am currently rehearsing with Our Lady's Musical Society for their production of Sister Act which opens in September 2026.
Skills
I successfully completed a 4 week part time course in 'The Art of Acting' at Strathclyde University. I hold a number of LAMDA awards for singing under the Musical Theatre category with pass and distinction levels with Gold and Silver awards. I have also achieved awards for Bass Guitar exams obtained from RGT at London College of Music. I took part in 3 dance events for a number of charities, where the format was similar to 'Strictly Come Dancing'. On the back of this, I signed up for some Spanish dancing classes a few months later. Being a keen cyclist for over 40 years, I did some cycling events to raise money for charities. Much later, I took some time out of work to cycle on long distance trips around the North of England and Scotland, hostelling along the way.
