John Head

Biography

Born 1952 and grew up in Glasgow and surrounding areas. Was average at school achieving 2 Olevels. Did an apprentiship in mechanical engineering and worked in a few different factories.
Got married in 1972 and had 2 daughters.
In 1976 we emigrated to South Africa, over several years i worked on Power Stations and Coal Mines
We eventually moved to Cape Town where we stayed for 2 years before returning to UK (East Kilbride) in 1986.
I continued working in various engineering companies eventually working in a job that required me to travel the world working on compressors and turbines for petrochemical plants. Retired in 2023 still living in East Kilbride.
