Angus Bennie

Biography

I am based in Elgin, Scotland where I have lived all my life. Although, I am willing to go further afield as far as Central Scotland if I am required to.

My interest in acting began at Elgin Academy where I studied Higher Drama. I studied the plays 'Antigone' by Sophocles and 'Our Ladies of Perpetual Succour' by Lee Hall. During that time, I realised that acting brought out some strengths in me such as being able to quickly memorise a script and also comminucate more effectively with people. I was diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome at the age of 7 and it has often made social interactions difficult. This encouraged me to join a theatre group which lead to me performing in Inverness, Elgin, and Lossiemouth. I also studied NC Acting and Theatre Performance at Moray College where I played the role of Harry in a production of 'Confusions' by Alan Ayckbourn.

I am also influenced by my strong interest in film. I go the cinema a lot, which is a hobby of mine, to see anything that is good whether it is a blockbuster, an animated film, or an arthouse film. I also like to visit different cinemas within the UK, espescially cinemas that have historical aspects.

I am happy to play whatever role I am needed for in a production and hopefully learn more about the workings of a production with each role.
