I am a retired police officer (a hostage and crisis negotiator) who prior to joining the police, worked for over 10 years within production for STV. I used extras from Real People on a regular basis. Thus I have lots of on set experience and have both writing, directing and voice over experience. I am currently writing a crime novel and a comedy series. I have an appreciation of comedy and comic timing. I love travel and am willing to spend time away from home. Having worked on Barra, western isles, I have experience of remote islands and island life. I am versatile in terms of looks - I am 60 but capable of playing younger.
I am a fiction writer, but I also have experience of writing for stage, radio and for advertising.
I have experience of directing on feature tv programmes.
I am comfortable swimming in the open sea (regularly go open water swimming), I am comfortable at height, I drive, I can kayak, I am fit (very for for my age), I have comedy experience and an appreciation of comic timing.
For ten years I worked in the film and tv and radio arena as a writer, director and producer, which means that I have first hand knowledge of corporate and commercial production methods and am comfortable playing parts that reflect behind the scenes staff.
My roles within the police means that I have experience of Gold, Silver, Bronze policing command structures and police command rooms and protocols. I have first hand experience of policing hostage and crisis negotiation and protest and demonstration policing.
I have been a role player in many police training environments playing hostage and / or hostage taker or person in crisis.
I am not squeamish and have seen many dead bodies and injured people.
