I recently retired from work with an environmental organisation in Scotland, after 30+ years. I am married, with three grown-up children, . I still manage to play football (badly) every week, I also enjoy hill-walking, and am taking up beekeeping.
I have acted in short films that my niece produced as part of her film course, and read through with my daughter all of the scripts for youth theatre plays that she has acted in. I was once an extra in a Hong Kong period drama, playing a guest at a banquet. Other than that I have not acted since I was at school (when I was quite keen). I have written a novel and a screenplay based on it, but I haven’t persuaded a producer to film it … yet.
During my backpacking years I travelled extensively in Asia. I have also studied monkey behaviour in Kathmandu, represented my local community at a public inquiry, been a volunteer for the probation service, been a contestant on a TV quiz show and worked as an operative at a crisp factory.
Nothing particularly showbizzy. Looking grizzled, and staring into the middle distance (other expressions are available).
