Recently retired, I started my career as an extra a year or so ago.
My first role was playing a clan chief over three weeks for Outlander prequel Blood of My Blood in various locations around Scotland.
I was selected to be a cast stand-in on several days.
Also played a crowd member for the film I Swear. And a churchgoer in thriller Coldwater. I have since worked on multiple episodes of River City both last year and this. I appeared in a TV advert for Scottish Power this winter and went on to do health and safety videos for them, with dialogue.
I have also been part of a small cast for a short film for Visit Scotland, currently on their website.
For the previous 7 years I was a funeral celebrant, where I successfully delivered hundreds of funeral services for families all over Scotland. So I'm used to performing in front of tough crowds!
In contrast, I was Santa Claus for a couple of Christmases at a theme park and, despite going to Lapland, my 7-year-old grandson is convinced I am still the real Santa!
I spent most of my working life in different areas of the media, so I'm used to getting on with people from all walks of life.
Can play all sports, swim, ride a bike, and the like. Keen hill walker. Dodgy dancer. Very basic Spanish. Used to paint so can do a good impression of an artist. Can turn my hand to almost anything.
