Biography

I started a re-enactment group 25 years ago(The Historic Saltire Society) which is still going strong. I’m very proud of this achievement but I am now only an honorary member. While with the group I was responsible for organising at least 10 major events a year and several smaller shows. We were employed by Historic Environmental Scotland, Clans for gatherings, Schools and private events. Audience numbers varied from 10 to 10,000. The group is very skilled in presenting historic day to day activities but my main area of interest was based around the fighting arena.
I also was involved with individual historical character presentation's which I still do now around some of Scotland's most popular monuments, Elgin cathedral, Urquhart castle, Edinburgh castle to name a few.
I also enjoyed film extra work working for a few BBC shows, on the set of Centurion, several characters for National Geographic and was a cheese seller in a Gaelic film. One regret I have is that I was invited onto the set of Outlander several time but work got in the way and I never managed to commit myself to this one.
The reason I am now applying for film extra work is that I have resigned from my previous job and now semiretired giving me time to get back to what I enjoy.
Although all the extra performances I have taken part in have been non talking part I do an annual performance at Edinburgh castle call A Bit of Burns.
One year the ABC network turned up to film the presentation which was filmed and sent out live to the states where I was told it would be viewed by about 2 million people, all went well.
