My name is Paul Toman and I was born and brought up in Glasgow, Scotland. After attending University in the early 80s (where I met my future wife), I started working with the Civil Service as a Computer Programmer, mainly on the systems supporting the 1991 census. After a few years I joined a large financial organisation in Edinburgh, where I worked as a software engineer for 30 years. In 2019 I took early retirement and have since spent my time hiking, travelling, making music, reading, and looking after my 4 young grandsons. 2 years ago I also started up my own business offering bespoke Scottish tours, trips, activities, and adventures to intrepid tourists and travellers, primarily from America
I consider myself more of a “jack of all trades” rather than an expert on any particular subject. However I do have a reasonably good degree of proficiency in the following skills and activities:
Computers and computer programming
Acoustic Guitar (mainly folk and rock music)
Hiking, hillclimbing, and navigation
Origami and paper aeroplanes
