ISLA HOWIE

Biography

Dancing Experience:
I have danced since the age of 3 training and performing through local dance companies and during which time I successfully auditioned for the Scottish Ballet Junior Associates course and the Intermediate Foundation Course in Ballet at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.

Musical Theatre Experience:
I have done a number of amateur dramatics shows at the Minerva Youth Theatre (MYT) since 2011-2020. I have played roles such as Victoria the white cat’ in ‘Cats’ and ‘Maureen’ in ‘Rent’. The National Operatic and Dramatic Association stating “Isla gave an absolutely stand-out comedy performance when she sang ‘Over the Moon’ and together in their duet ‘Take Me or Leave Me” was brilliant.

Acting Experience:
In 2019 I joined the UK Theatre School Advance Musical Theatre (AMT) course. This is where I studied straight acting and took on acting roles In the AMT’s course project I was cast as “Angie” in ‘Our House’. In the theatre’s Christmas show “Auntie Elsie Saves Christmas” written by Andy McGregor I played one of the main leads called ‘Anna’. During this performance I was very fortunate to be working with Musical Director David Higham and Director Dougie Irvine.
