Biography
Studied Textiles & Clothing at Scottish college of Textiles, Galashiels. Post graduate study in Clothing at same.
Worked in Clothing industry for 20 years, working with many brand names. Sourcing product and working in Hong Kong & China . Travelled extensively throughout Europe as part of my job.
Had a beautiful baby boy in my late 30's. Who now in his 20's works in London - I travel frequently to London to be with him.
I retrained in my early 30's to become a secondary school teacher. I did this after working as a part time lecturer at Caledonian Uni on BA fashion course.
I completed a (PDGE) post graduate diploma in general education - Health and food technology.
Worked for 13 years as a Home Economics teacher and laterly as a Nurture teacher for next seven years. Then i retired , and am now working two days per week as a supply Teacher in Paisley Grammar school.
I also have worked and trained within the (CHS)Children's hearing system. Working as a panel member, and am now chairing Hearings in Bell Street , Glasgow.
I have a wide experience in working with young people. I am looking for a new challenge , one that combines my creativity with general responsibilities. I have practised mindfulness within my working with young people with anxiety and am interested in the value of Tai Chi to support wellbeing.
I am also interested in film work.
Skills
I have many skills that have enabled me to have multiple successes in my career, spanning almost 38 years.
I would say that I am reliable, trustworthy, creative, interesting, well read and an considered, fun to be with. I'm a good cook, an inspiring person and generous of my time and spirit. I have great friends .
I have tutored kids outside of school. I'm patient, knowledgeable, resilient and am a good listener.
I have a creative family who are a
constant source of inspiration.
