Biography

I have a diverse background in healthcare, education, and psychology. Formerly a Registered Nurse and Midwife, I spent 15 years as a Lecturer in Nursing before becoming a Senior Lecturer in Psychology, a Chartered Psychologist (British Psychological Society) and Practitioner Health Psychologist (HCPC registered). I hold a PhD in Psychology, a Master’s degree in Education, Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and an Advanced Diploma in Child Development. I have current PVG certification.

My recent work includes psychological assessment and on-set support for contributors in reality television and documentary productions, ensuring the wellbeing of vulnerable participants. I have worked with major broadcasters including ITV, BBC, SKY, and STV.

Recent media psychology work includes:
2025 BBC Children in Need: Challenge Squad – currently interviewing and providing support for children participating in physically and emotionally challenging activities.
2024 STV Appeal – Psychological support for adult contributors during filming.
2024 STV Children’s Appeal – Interviewed and supported families and children featured in the programme.
