Biography
I'm a 20 year old bi-racial woman of British and South Asian descent. Appearance wise I can pass for white British/Western European. I was born and raised in Bath, England, as well as spending a lot of my childhood and adulthood in Glasgow, Scotland. I have completed my GCSE's, A levels and WJEC (Welsh qualification in applied criminology and law) and am currently studying a BA(hons) in Sociology at Liverpool John Moores University. I am currently living in Glasgow as I take a gap year in my degree.
I have a thriving passion for film and tv, I love to explore genres of these medias and understand how stories and scripts can be translated in different forms. Learning about how essential language, cinematography and music are to shaping a piece of film absorbs me fully. Additionally, the cinematic arts through political expression is something I believe is immensely impactful. Meaningful narratives of history and anecdotes have shaped my creative perspective and drive to explore these portrayals of truth.
Skills
I am an excellent communicator. Having worked in the hospitality industry and the service industry, I have gained exceptional communication skills. I am able to communicate and converse easily with people from different backgrounds, religions, nationalities and ages. During my youth I was involved in the arts, I was a member of a theatre school where i completed examinations and performed in play productions. These experiences combined, have enabled me to adapt and act swiftly to assigned environments and perform a job to the best of my ability.
i am a perceptive people person, which allows me to analyse and read people and environments effectively. Having grown up in England as well as spending half of my life in Scotland i have learnt how to code switch with ease, switching easily between a standard English accent and a soft Glaswegian accent (My natural accent is a hybrid of the two). As well as this i have lived in Liverpool for 2 years and have spent my life around my Pakistani family. Having this range of exposure of accents and dialects, imitating phonetics of an accent is something i am skilled in and am able to pick up easily.
