I am a very recently retired primary school Head Teacher. I have been teaching for 32 years. Prior to this, I worked in sales, both telephone and out in the field, where I was very successful. I lived and worked in Spain for 4 years, working for Thomson Holidays. During my years there, I was involved in organising the Thomson Holiday Rep shows. This involved ensuring there was a wide range of acts from singing/dancing to comedy and whole team finales. I also took part in the shows. I also speak Spanish. I have always had a very keen interest in sport and keeping fit. I run and attend a range of classes at my local gym.
Since my retirement, I have taken up golf, which I really enjoy. My husband and I enjoy travelling and spending time on holiday.
I am a confident individual with considerable experience managing and leading others in the workplace. Having worked in a school within a high level of deprivation, I am acutely aware of the needs of others and how to support them, both children and adults. I am also an excellent team player and recognise the need to work alongside others to create a conducive environment. I am able to adapt my approach within a range of ages.
Whilst I was teaching, I was heavily involved in the production of school shows and musicals. This was a very interesting and rewarding experience.
I speak Spanish well and take every opportunity to speak when I am travelling.
