Lydia Collett

Biography

Love being a 5 year retired police sergeant, now having the flexibility and freedom to try new things. My varied police service of 25 years included beat cop, community policing, ports unit, special branch and close protection. Also seconded to work in Netherlands during the Lockerbie trials at Camp Zeist. Promoted to sergeant after a couple of years in Force Projects. Sergeant life took me to Community and Response policing within the Glasgow and surrounding areas, ending my career as a Custody Sergeant in the largest police custody centre in Scotland. My goal on retirement was primarily to keep fit and active, joined my local gym and continue to enjoy my regular fitness routine including spin, body pump, Pilates and yoga. I also carry out Invigilator duties at one of my local schools during the Summer and Winter exam periods. Love my life and look forward to whatever challenges and adventures come my way.

Skills

Full clean driving licence (D1). Bit out of practice now but can horse ride and due to my firearms role during police service, have experience of the use of side firearms. Good knowledge of police procedures and practices. Previously owned two medium/large breed dogs therefore experienced with dogs. Cycle regularly. Very patient and even tempered, don’t get stressed easily. Like to be physical and enjoy outdoor life. Can ice skate and swim.
